You tell yourself a lesson and you try to write it down so you won’t forget, you won’t forget what you just said. And maybe you don’t see it like me, maybe its subtle baby how you turn, how you turn into someone else. But Angela you know its coming back, it started straight away from the attack, and I’m afraid there’s not much to report. I’m sitting here waiting watching the models at Charles de Gaulle airport. You see yourself in storefront windows staring out into the sea of hope, the sea of all the things you want. But oh you look so goddamn cute just standing in that fountain ankle deep, ankle deep in change and dreams. But Angela you know its coming back, it started straight away from the attack, and I’m afraid there’s not much to report. I’m sitting here waiting, watching the models at Charles de Gaulle airport. Angela you know its coming back, it started straight away from the attack and I’m afraid there’s not much to report. I’m sitting here waiting, watching the models at Charles de Gaulle airport. I’m sitting here waiting, watching the models at Charles de Gaulle airport. I’m sitting here waiting, watching the models at Charles de Gaulle airport.

You wish the lights of, you wish the lights of the night in Madrid could wash away sins. And leave the feeling, and leave the feeling that we’re headed back home with the future in tow. But I swear I’m only dreaming about things I’ll never do. Oh I swear I’m made of paper lions burning down. Some nights the only, the only thing I get right is your name and that’s ok. And Sara without, oh Sara without an h will you stay. Stay the same. And I swear I’m only dreaming about things I’ll never do. Oh I swear I’m made of paper lions burning down. Down to the ground. But I swear I’m only dreaming about things I’ll never do. Oh I swear I’m made of paper lions burning down. Oh burning down. Down to the ground.

Mirrored Glass and eyes of blue and black remind this mind that nothing lasts. Reflect the fires in your room at night, the hope; the fear of flight. Midwestern plain surveyed and primed, go dot these fields with drops of time. Install the meaning in this barren place; a passing glimpse of grace, we’ll see your face.A Ploughshare that split the earth and sowed more seeds than hope and I could grow. Let's take it out tonight and raise it up, a sculpture not to trust. Assess the damage after 2, as I'm left here drinking in my living room; telling all the stories that I never said or ever quite got right until tonight. The frost of the morning it burns off with every syllable I leave hanging in the frigid expanse amongst the people I meet. And dawn breaks upon us with fury warmth and blindness as it splits the spell, it cracks the shell as we collapse on ourselves and dissolve into these fiery fields. Always know you’ll never die alone; always know I meant to make it home; always be a soldier for yourself and no one, yourself and no one else. Always know you’ll be the last thing I think about on the moment that I die; always be a soldier for yourself and no one, yourself and no one else. Yourself and no one else.

You came here looking for history, you came here for tribute in blood there’s not much left to wring out of me, there never was very much at all. And it comes and it comes and it comes apart. And it comes and it comes and it comes apart. and it comes and it comes and it comes apart at the seams, at the seams. You came here carrying memories, you came here with lingering wants. There won’t be another morning sunrise because the sun never sets on us. And it comes and it comes and it comes apartand it comes and it comes and it comes apart and it comes and it comes and it comes apart at the seams at the seams. All along you swore that this would never happen twice and you felt like a breath when you said it. Staring out at the sky’s reflection dancing on the waves lapping up the sand swallowing our feet in Lake Michigan. All along you swore that this would never happen twice and you felt like a breath when you said it. Staring out at the sky’s reflection dancing on the waves lapping up the sand swallowing our feet in Lake Michigan.

Came/Went 02:48
This time you came and went and you spent all your money on all of your friends and they got real drunk and slept in your house and you couldn’t wake them up or kick them out.And you said you’re too busy and I’m too crazy and you’re just standing around wasting everybody’s time.Too busy and I’m too crazy and you’re just freaking out. This time you came and went and you told your doctor about all of your friends and she said you were right to leave them alone and she said you were wrong to come back home. And you said you’re too busy and I’m too crazy and you’re just standing around wasting everybody’s time.Too busy and I’m too crazy and you’re just freaking out about everything. And you’re too busy and I’m too crazy and you’re just standing around wasting everybody’s time, time, wasting everybody’s time. Etc…

All the steam that rose from our coffee filled our heads brought us back from a night we spent mining these blocks for madness, these streets all painted in light the map of our life. All the time and space that this land affords we require. And on those cool summer evenings I could almost see it I could almost touch my reward. And all the times you carried me home across the sun stained great lake shore. And now we’re carrying your body across Lake Ontario up to the snow-covered hills. Snow in these hills the snow in these hills. This town was never as splendid as when you walked among us, held us all inside of your gaze. And all the times you carried me home across the sun stained great lake shore, and now we’re carrying your body across Lake Ontario up to the snow covered hills. And all the times you carried me home across the sun stained great lake shore and now we’re carrying your body across Lake Ontario up to these snows covered hills.

I saw you coming. I saw you scuff up your brand new white shoes on the curb as you stared into my headlights. I saw the look on... I saw the look written all over your face like a subtle playwright’s turn of phrase. And it’s such a shame you wear that dress so well. And it’s such a shame that no one here can tell. You take your time to... You take your time to disengage from anything that tries to suck you in. A sad dissension, a sad descent and a resignation. This is where the train comes off the tracks. And it’s such a shame you wear that dress so well. And it’s such a shame that no one here can tell. And it's not ironic but all the city boys keep saying that it totally is such a shame you wear that dress so well. Please remember to come up for air and maybe I’ll see you when you’re there. And it’s such a shame you wear that dress so well. And it’s such a shame that no one here can tell. And it's not ironic but all the city boys keep saying that it totally is such a shame you wear that dress so well.

Runner 02:24
Make up, make up and powdered faces stare at you and me but you’ll be, but you’ll be right here with me, and you swear you’re never coming… oh oh oh. Make up, make up and powdered faces stare at you and me but you’ll be, but you’ll be right here with me and you swear you’re never coming. Oh oh, oh you’re a runner, so fast your pulse never slows down. Oh oh, oh you’re a runner so we will run out, we’ll run out of this town. Oh oh, oh you’re a runner, so fast your pulse never slows down. Oh oh, oh you’re a runner, so we will run out, we’ll run out of this town. Oh oh, oh you’re a runner, so fast your pulse never slows down. Oh oh, oh you’re a runner, so we will run out, we’ll run out of this…

You see yourself above me like you’re watching us on tv. The picture clipped and broken you hear the sound of melody in whisper the tones of old forgotten songs you tell me all the things that you wrote down. We sit on ends of bedsides. These beds that we once slept late in and you dot the walls around us with nervous looks. And drink your jack and cola and sit in bars alone don’t you? And you make your own decisions without a net or a map and you see me and you feel me but you wake up with someone else. And the hotel in Chicago, it feels like we never left. Can you see it baby? can you feel it now? can you hear me calling calling calling you out? can you see it baby? can you feel it now? can you hear me calling calling calling you out? You see me and you feel me and you wake up with someone else. And the hotel in Chicago, it feels like we never left. And you see me and you feel me and you wake up with someone else. And the hotel in Chicago, it feels like we never left.

This place is open every weeknight filled with neon yellow lights. Cheap beer and cheaper perfume, nobody here ever quite gets it right. You like to think yourself as uncondescending, you like to think yourself that way. Maybe you’re right but maybe I got something, Maybe you’re right but baby I’ve got something. We’re all liars and we start these fires and well be here, we’ll be here to watch them burn. You like to think yourself as uncompromising, my body changes your mind. Turn around the matchstick as it flickers, illuminate the night. You like to think yourself as uncomplicated, so why are we standing here arguing the worst of the present?; you dismiss the best of the year out here, out here. When you’re the only one standing up screaming at the fires babe it's easy to see, oh babe it's easy to see that nothing quite turns out like we design it in the day time, it's so hard to project the light of thought on the dark when all the myths and the makers form ranks around the takers oh it's never enough oh babe it's never enough, forget the past and the present the futures all we’re left with and it’s easy to leave oh babe it’s easy to leave. The only one standing up screaming at the fires, babe it's easy to see, oh babe it's easy to see that nothing quite turns out like we design it in the day time, it's so hard to project the light of thought on the dark when all the myths and the makers form ranks around the takers, oh it's never enough, oh babe it's never enough, forget the past and the present, the futures all we’re left with and it’s easy to leave oh babe it’s easy to leave. (We’re all liars and we started fires and we’ll be here. We’ll be here)
